1. We are Accepting Applications for the 2008 Battle of the Bands !
2. All types of music will be permitted. A minimum of eight (8) bands will be selected from the applications to compete in the Kalida Pioneer Days "Battle of the Bands" on Thursday, September 4, 2008, from 7:30 p.m. - 12:00 A.M. Contestants will compete on stage in the "Big Tent."
3. Along with the application, each band must pay a $25.00 entry fee made payable to "Kalida Pioneer Days, Inc." to compete. All bands who are selected to compete must send in a $25.00 registration fee to register and compete. Bands will be notified no later than August 31, 2008, as to whether they will compete.
4. If your band is selected to play, you will have 15 minutes to perform during the competition. Participants will be judged on technical ability, audience appeal, stage presence, and overall musical ability.
5. No foul language will be tolerated and no inappropriate props will be allowed. Any bands who violate this will be disqualified from the competition at the discretion of the "Big Tent Entertainment" committee.
6. All bands who have t-shirts or other apparel will be allowed to sell their items. Bands must have a person to sell this apparel. There will be tables provided for bands who want to sell their apparel.
7. Prizes will be awarded for 1st Place and "Fans' Choice." The 1st place prize will be $350.00 and the "Fans' Choice" prize will be $150.00.
8. Bands will need to bring all guitars, drumsticks, and other specialty equipment needed for the show. All drums, amps, and microphones will be provided.
9. Band information may be featured in local media or at www.pioneerdays.com.
